Each petal must travel down to the white centre AND end up between the right colours. "Matched with its centre" means the petal’s side sticker lines up with the centre of the same colour.

The procedure, per petal: turn only the top (U) until the petal’s side sticker sits directly above the centre of the same colour. Then turn that face twice (F2, R2, B2 or L2) — the petal drops straight down onto the white face, perfectly placed.

Repeat for all four petals. If you always align before dropping, a drop can never disturb an already-dropped edge — each petal has its own face.

When the daisy is gone, the white cross is complete on the bottom. Flip the cube over (x2) and check: every cross edge shows white on top, and its side colour flows straight down into the matching centre.

A white edge whose side colour does NOT match is in the wrong slot: bring it back up with the same double turn, re-align it over the correct centre, and drop it again.

This matching is the foundation of the whole solve — a mis-slotted cross silently breaks every later step. When you are sure, flip back over (white down, yellow up) and keep it that way: from here to the finished cube, you will never flip the cube again.
