The Daisy

How to hold the cube
Hold the cube with the yellow middle facing up. Keep it that way for this step and the next one.
The middle sticker on each side never moves. Spin the cube all you like: the middles stay where they are. That makes them your map. A middle sticker tells you what colour that whole side will be at the end.
Find the white middle and turn the cube so white points at the floor. Now look at the middle on top. On most cubes it is yellow, and we will call it yellow the whole way through. If yours is some other colour, that is fine. Nothing changes. Just use your colour every time we say yellow.
Your job in this step: get the four white EDGE stickers up around the yellow middle, like petals round a flower. Side colours do not matter yet. That is the next step.
There is nothing to learn by heart here. Just look, then lift. Check which way the white sticker points before you turn anything. White pointing DOWN on the bottom: turn that face twice and the edge comes straight up, white on top. White pointing SIDEWAYS on the bottom: turn that face once, not twice. The edge now sits in the middle layer, and the next rule lifts it from there.
A white edge in the middle layer: one turn of a side face lifts it. Look first. You want white to land facing UP, not sideways. A white edge already on top but lying on its side is not a petal yet. Turn its face once and it drops into the middle, white facing outwards. Now lift it with the face next door, and white lands on top. It is the same two-move trick as before.
One golden rule. Before you lift an edge, turn the top so that no finished petal sits in the spot you are about to use. Clear the landing spot first. Then lift.
Why the daisy? Building the white cross straight away means getting two things right at once. The daisy splits the job in half. First gather the whites. Then match the colours, one petal at a time. Two easy jobs beat one hard one.
Done-check: a yellow middle with four white petals around it. Nothing else on the cube matters yet.

The algorithms
Use this only when the white sticker points DOWN. The edge is on the bottom, at the front. Turn that face twice and it comes straight up, white on top. Clear the landing spot with a top turn first if a petal is already sitting there. If white points sideways instead, a half turn lands it flipped every time. Turn that face once, then lift it as a middle-layer edge.
A white edge sits in the front-right middle slot with white facing you. One turn of the right face lifts it to the top, white up. This is also the second half of the sideways fix. Turn the face once to drop that edge into the middle. Then lift it from here.
Tips
- Check which way white points before you turn anything
- One petal at a time — never chase two whites at once
- Clear the landing spot with a top turn before you lift
- Side colours do not matter yet
- Petals are edges. White corners wait until later.
Common mistakes
- Knocking a finished petal off while lifting the next one
- Half turning a bottom edge whose white points sideways — it always lands flipped
- Matching side colours here, which is the next step
- Bringing white corners up instead of edges
- Leaving a petal flipped: white has to face UP, not sideways
