Drills
Practise one part of the solve at a time: the cross, F2L, the last pairs and your lookahead.
About this drill
Cross + F2L, slowly but without ever stopping. Each click of the metronome is one move; while one pair goes in, look for the next. Choose a tempo clearly below your normal pace. The cube should never stop.
Any cross colour: the drill ends after F2L on whichever colour you build.
One click, one move, every 667 ms.
- sub-40: 1–1.5
- sub-30: 1.5–2
- sub-20: 2–2.5
- sub-15: 2.5–3
- sub-10: 3–4
Starting points: well below the pace you turn at in a solve. Lower it if you can't keep the cube moving.
Connect a smart cube: it sets each drill up with you move by move, starts on your first turn and stops by itself when the drill is done.
Preparing…
SPACE starts the metronome and the clock, and stops both; the next scramble follows.
Got a smart cube? It sets each drill up and times it.

Every drill isolates one part of the solve, so a minute of practice gives you far more useful repetitions than full solves do. Scrambles are random-state: the part you drill is solved, everything else is truly random. With a smart cube the drill judges itself and moves straight on to the next one.
